I look forward to Christmas movie season. My Christmas movies… I’m very particular and the older I get, the more ordered and regimented I become with this whole topic. My all time favorite movie genre is Romantic Comedy from the 1940s and that’s where my top favorites come from.
Here are my top 5:
- Meet Me in St. Louis
Something about the way the story plays out throughout the calendar year makes me want to see it as the first film of the holiday season.
This one does not fit the 1940s criteria, I know. But it’s so silly and sweet and stupid… all at the same time. Who couldn’t love this one?
- Holiday Inn
“White Christmas” made its debut in this film. Plus, some of Fred Astaire”s song and dance numbers are unbelievable.
- Christmas in Connecticut
What can I say? I love the farmhouse! I also love the goofy story line.
- It’s a Wonderful Life
I’m always amazed when someone tells me they haven’t seen this movie. It’s such a great American, feel good classic. This is the perfect movie to get you into the true spirit of Christmas.
Share your favorite Christmas movies with me. I’d love to know what others watch during the holiday season.
